Thank you for your contribution to support the Japanese Christian ministry of Tokyo Christian University. If you have questions or would like more information, please see the information below or complete our Contact Us form at the bottom of the page.
Most studies indicate that about 1% of the population of Japan are Christian and 99% non-Christian. Excluding the more fringe groups of Christianity from that estimate, it’s more likely that about ¾% of Japanese people are Biblically Christian. That equates to less than 1 million of Japan’s total population of nearly 127 million people. By way of comparison, Mexico has a similar population to Japan with a population of 129 million, however 90% of the population identify as Christian. So how can you help Japanese people hear the truth about Jesus? Please consider donating to the TCU Foundation.
When you support the TCU Foundation, your donations go directly to Tokyo Christian University’s activities to educate and support the careers of their students. In turn, student activities during and post-education include short and long term missions, local church ministry activities, evangelism activities in both urban and rural areas of Japan, and worship and administrative functions of the university. In short, you are supporting the spread of the Gospel of Jesus through the lives of those studying to minister throughout Japan using their God-given strengths, which are honed through their time of education and experience at Tokyo Christian University.
Sometimes Tokyo Christian University activities consist of as-needed Japanese relief efforts in Tokyo and greater Japan. Most notably, we have made great effort to comfort and provide periodic support to Japan’s tsunami refugees. TCU volunteer center has sent two teams to the disaster stricken areas during spring breaks. The first team helped with construction work from March 12th to 16th in Hachiman, Ishinomaki city. The second team volunteered from the 20th to 24th in Nasu, Tochigi. Their activities included delivering handmade socks to each temporary household. These precious socks had been handmade by volunteers in Germany with much encouragement and sympathy for the Japanese victims.
Philanthropists, laypeople and others interested in donating to charitable organizations such as Samaritan’s Purse, Red Cross, and the Christian Missionary Alliance may want to consider donating to Tokyo Christian University Foundation to directly support both short-term and long-term Japanese church ministry activities, by investing in the lives and education of TCU students.
